Did you guys see tonight’s episode of 90210?!?
KIDDING. I’ve been following the media blitz(er) as closely as any dutiful American and could not be happier typing, however little it’s really sunken in yet, the following words:
Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America.
Wow. Now and only now does the below seem appropriate. Celebrate, people!

Verges on the most amazing night of my life.
Thanks SO much to everyone who made it happen, but especially to those voting for the 1st or 2nd time — who refused to let the easy cynicism of recent history guide their hands at the voting machine. I don’t have any kids of my own to hug, and no nieces or nephews close at hand so I guess they’re off the hook, too. But I couldn’t be happier nor prouder this morning.

I almost don’t know what to do with all the positive energy I’ve been feeling these past two days. Am I supposed to build a small school? Play Memory with deaf children? Either could involve puppies, too – I’m very open to the animal element. OBAMA!
… There is, of course, monumental work to be done in Washington and the country at large. Bush’s wrecking crew did quite a number on our government, and to re-build will take some doing. News that Obama is considering some Clinton era heavy-hitters for his administration has me a little uneasy (I seem to recall the word “change” playing a big part in Prez-Elect’s campaign) but I accept that certain decisions need to be made to dig us out of our hole. We’ll get there, and regain our footing as a unified nation and international role model. Without sarcasm or irony, I can say the future really does look bright.
And Lindsay, HENNING linked the video. Man.

Glad I just scrolled back through your posts to see what comments I’d missed. Lindsay’s not knowing who’d posted this reminded me of a suggestion I meant to make, about your WordPress template:
When somebody visits your home page, all the article excerpts thereon are bylined.
…BUT when viewing individual posts, there’s no byline.
Where this creates confusion is in the case of somebody like me and, maybe, Lindsay — who’s following the Fog (hey, there’s your slogan!) via an RSS feed. No bylines.
Not that it makes a whole heck of a lot of difference to me who’s posting. I mean, if I had to throw a life preserver to one of you I know which one it would be. But both you guys are doing a genuinely excellent job.
