The Watchmen movie marketing machine (M³) is still batting a thousand. First that pimptastic teaser. Then the introduction of unique “Motion Comics.” Now these:

The Comedian
Against all odds, this movie might actually deliver. It’s clear to me that Zack Snyder is giving Watchmen the utmost care and respect, something I would have thought the man incapable of one year ago. Did he make a deal with the devil? Whatever – proof is in the posters. Everything about these suckers is perfect, from Rorschach’s casual hands-in-pockets stride to the original Silk Spectre’s S&M sexiness to Dr. Manhattan’s bright blue ass. I know they’re just static images (and film is narrative in motion blah blah blah), but dammit if this isn’t the most faithful artistic translation of a comic book I’ve ever seen. Alan Moore might still be spitting venom at this project, but it won’t land on Snyder – homey’s back is covered. March 6th, 2009. Who’s coming with?
